Albert J.Fillips & Kaleolani A.Ferreira
Stylists based in Los Angeles and New York

Kaleolani A. Ferreira, known by his styling alias Prince Kaleo, and Albert J. Phillips are the founders and creative duo behind the vintage boutique Asa Jesse Vintage, which has been operating since 2014. The boutique’s name is derived from their middle names—Asa and Jesse—and symbolizes their unity in vision and taste.
Ferreira hails from San Francisco and began his professional styling career in Los Angeles and New York. From 2009 to 2014, he managed the vintage boutique The Armoire, where his styling talent was recognized by members of the creative community.
Today, the duo actively works on photoshoots, styling collaborations, and film projects. Among their recent works is the short film "Underachiever", directed by Robert Silver and written by Justin Amey. The photographer for this publication is the talented Scott Evans, with whom they have a long-standing and trusting collaboration.
Their philosophy centers around style as an act of self-expression. Asa Jesse Vintage is not just a vintage shop but a platform where history, individuality, and creativity merge into a cohesive aesthetic.

S.I.: Please tell us what trends you think will be the main ones this spring—colors, shapes, and wardrobe items?
K.A.F.:
  • Menswear: Will see more comfortable fabric textures, straight to the point cuts, sleek yet flexible clothing items. Men’s color ways will have soft pastels, muted tones and earthy hues. Some deeper colors will be seen in more elegant evening attire. Tailored pieces like suits and sets will also come to the forefront this spring/summer.
  • Key style suggestions: Intentional layers, classic striped button-up shirts, light knitwear, durable trousers, polo shirts, suits, loafers, and low top sneakers.
  • Womenswear: Will have very feminine silhouettes, soft layers, such as silks, linens along with beautiful sheer fabrics. Romantic and elegant pieces that are more elaborate such as ruffles or puff sleeves. Atelier pieces styled with more elevated items. There will be vibrant and bold color ways. Bold metallic silvers.
  • Denim on denim in all fits will be prevalent this season—low rise, wide leg, and skinny style jeans will continue to be a womenswear staple and a must-have for any true fashionista’s wardrobe collection.
  • Also, flowy maxi skirts and mini skirts with suedes, textures and patterns will tie back into bohemian key style.
  • Key style suggestions: Pay attention to silhouettes.
"Layers are one part of many things that can elevate any outfit. Not only can layers elevate but also evolve as you add or take away pieces from your look."

S.I.: Conversely, which ones will be inappropriate?
K.A.F.: I think the “skinny jean” phase has made an exit for men’s fashion but could circle back as all trends do. Most recently I would say that wide-leg trousers are trending. Looser fit garments, more sustainable fabrics and comfort is at the forefront right now. As my own personal style continues to evolve, I always choose comfortable garments over anything else.
S.I.: What tricks can help make an outfit look more expensive?
K.A.F.:
  • Layers: Are one part of many things that can elevate any outfit. Not only can layers elevate but also evolve as you add or take away pieces from your look. Become a master of layering; it truly is an art.
  • Accessories: Adding the right accessory or accessories can help express your individuality. Whether it be a bag, belt, scarf, necklace, earrings, necktie, the list goes on.
  • Color Palette/Patterns: Finding color combinations and patterns that work best for you is key. If you’re like me and love mixing colors, textures, and prints or you a more traditional and prefer a more classic solid color scheme, doing this can help achieve something you feel comfortable and confident in wearing. You’re also staying true to you.
S.I.: What mistakes do people most often make when choosing wardrobe items? How can these be avoided?
K.A.F.: Honestly, I think following trends too closely can easily help you make mistakes when picking wardrobe items. Staying true to your individuality while gathering inspiration from trends would be my recommendation.
